The Adopt-a-Resident Scheme has been developed to assist deserving elders in finding a surrogate donor(s) that can help cover the shortfall to their monthly board and lodging fee.
You can help by sponsoring a destitute elderly resident by donating between R100 and R500 every month, and enable him or her to live with dignity. Under this scheme, the donor will receive regular feedback on how the money was spent and the status and updates on the sponsored resident. You will receive a photograph of your sponsored elder. All donor information, including names, beneficiaries, gift amounts, etc., is kept strictly confidential by DMH and its authorized staff unless permission is obtained from the donor to release such information. Contributions will be used strictly for the purpose(s), if any, specified by the donor. However, if in the judgment of DMH, such purpose(s) become unnecessary, impractical or impossible to fill, DMH may use such contributions for its general purposes.
If you would join the Adopt-a-Resident programme, please email The Douglas Murray Home at firstname.lastname@example.org , or you can print and complete the attached form and mail it in.
