Donations

At the Douglas Murray Home for the Aged we receive many donations of cash and of merchandise from benevolent individuals and organizations. Much of the donated items are used in support of the client care programme at the home.

Items that we cannot use are sold via the home's charity shop. The shop operates on the first and last Saturday of every month. By simply sorting out and donating any unwanted items to our charity shop, not only will it feel amazing to be able to see clearly what you've actually got, but you will be helping to raise much-needed funds for the home, helping us to save more lives.

What you can donate:

  • Clothing
  • Bedding & Curtians
  • Ornaments
  • Bric-a-brac
  • Furniture
  • Artwork
  • Electric appliances

We also accept donations either dried foods or fresh perishable food product including fruit and vegetables.

Finally we also accept bequests of money and property from deceased estates.

Every donation received will be properly recorded and the necessary receipts and tax certificate issued.

Please contact us at (021) 712 2146 to arrange for a collection.
